squeaky steering
so i have noticed over the last month this odd squeak. and tonight it sounded BAD.
only can hear it at >15mph. and only happens close to straight driving.
it sounds like a joint metal on metal.
anyone got a diagram of the steering system for a 92 civic. no ps so i can hope to diagnose this visually.
at a stop if i turn the wheel it does it too as of tonight. thats a sign i gotta fix it lol.
ideas ? anyone else had anything close ?

can you feel it in the wheel?
hear it outside the car? or inside?
just pull it in the garage and put an ear near all the moving parts while someone moves the wheel.

Hey I got the same prob...thinking the ball joints or possibly tie rod ends....my ej is alittle difficult to climb under and visually inspect while on the factory jack (crushed stone driveway isnt alititude friendly while Im under her lol,) the noise is like yours <15mph and when i turned the wheel the full radius it squeaks the whole way. Maybe dissassmble and apply liberal amounts of grease to the knuckle and rubber dust sheilds to the ***** joints. Ill hit it soon once the snow melts and post back.. GL
