Default Power Steering Valve for HP?

After reading the last post about 1/4 mile times and seeing people not running a power steering belt...

Could you free up the same horsepower by putting a valve on the line into the powersteering pump and turning it off when its go time?

Seems like without fluid getting to the pump, it wouldn't take any hp to spin it.

It's called a 12mm and ~5 minutes, taking your time.

I was lazy and drove for ~2 weeks with the PS belt removed after going drag racing.

Take off the belt and drain the fluid.
P/S is for wusses!!!

I took it off for racing, and realized that I like the feel of the car better. Plus it seems to rev faster (although that may be in my head...)

I wasn't lazy and left it off after going drag racing. Full conversion comes this winter.
