Default help with gauge cluster lighting

so i have been fooling around with my gauge cluster because it was flickering on and off.. finally it just stopped working all together ( the backlights that is) the bright's lights check engine lights battery lights ect ect would all light up when needed, the car was converted from auto to manual befor i bought the car and the automatic gauge cluster i have works for it the back light and all the other lights do atleast.. but then if i want to run one of those in the car the only gauge that works is the fuel gauge.. -.- so i kinda have a delema here.. id like to run the manual cluster but i also want the lighting to work lol.. if anyone can help me ASAP it would be greatly appreciated thanks much.. - Tyler

What works and what doesn't???

If you're having problems with the backlighting, check your dimmer switch

well see there are a few things that work on the manual cluster (which is what id like to have in the car..) those being the guages and all the indicator lights.. but no blacklighting. I replaced all the bulbs, and fuse's. It's not the dimmer switch because i have it ran threw a flip switch so its at its brightest at all time, (cheap 5 dollar fix for insted of getting a new dimmer switch :D ) .. but when i put in the automatic cluster then the backlighting works along with all the indicator's but none of the guages work

Looks at the back of the manual cluster and see if you notice any burnt lines in the circuit board. Sounds to me like you need a new cluster.

Check whether the 7.5A Back Up fuse in the hood fuse box is blown.
