Sup H-T. I just picked up a ej8 with a jdm b16 in it, and im trying to get the most power out of it with just bolt ons. Right now i have a Greddy sp2 exhaust, hytech replica header, and a whale *****. WHat would be the best to get next? I am going to get a street tune but should i get an intake manifold before? will it make any difference? So i can tune it with that manifold. Was looking at the blox intake mani with a 68mm blox tb. Will that be a good upgrade?

Yea i know. Ive read up that the b16a intake mani is already good enough? I dont want to get the blox intake mani n tb if im only going to get minor gains from it. Has anyone ran one of these intake manis and tb? or this setup?
Id keep the stock intake manifold and throttle body, but get a better intake tube.
Bolt-ons only do so much for an engine already making 100hp/L. If it were me, Id get it Neptune'd and save for cams or headwork. That or step up to a 1.8/2L
(my 2 cents)

Yea i know. Intake tube? u mean like my intake itself? I dont want to work with internals and cams n all that stuff. My old car gave me a lot of problems with all motor i just got bad luck lol so i just want a reliable car with basic bolt ons.
Yes. I believe there are some dyno graphs around here proving that a regular 3" intake of the correct length kills the whale dick intake.
The design looks cools and might give a little better throttle response, but an aem style cold air intake is generally the best design from what Ive seen here on HT.

Intake Manifold:
You already have the JDM B16 so you have the b16 with a higher compression and better flowing intake manifold (P30's do better than PR3's and are a heck of a lot cheaper than Blox or Sk2).
Throttle body:
Going with a 68mm TB would be overkill with that motor, 65mm @ best if you plan on staying with the stock bottom end (68mm if you plan on going 1.8-2.0). Going with a larger throttle body will not increase the amount (please note I stated the amount) of air going into your motor (logically think about it, do you believe that the volume of air entering your motor will increase by only enlarging the entrace point but keeping all the other channels of flow the same size?). It will register on the butt dyno as a quicker throttle response due to the increase from stock but would actually hinder the motor seeing as you are decreasing the velocity of air flowing into your naturally aspirated motor. Now on
Head:
Stage 2 cams or Blox Type B's will suffice. Heck you can even go with Buddy Club Spec III+'s (which can be found for cheap on here now in days). With any of these cams I recommend you go with a dual valvespring setup (Im a supertech fan but you might be able to get away with ITR/CTR valvesprings if you dont plan on increasing the redline [old hybrid-performance article]).
Fuel:
Your 240's should hold you but will be getting up there in the duty cycle. If you do upgrade that you should also upgrade your fuel pump.
* Look @ some other B16 builds/dynos and etc. Forgive me for being long winded, I too owned a B16 (although A2) and was absolutely in love with my motor and planned/read/built it the best way I knew how @ the time. Nothing happened to it, I just suffered from lack-of-tq-itis.
haha. I actually just purchased an AEM 3 inch for my ITR motor (practically new) and paid $145 shipped. If I did not purchase that intake I would have made my own 3 inch to a velocity stack.
Get rid of that POS long tube header and buy the SPF Toda copy if you're working on a budget. The intake you have now sucks(already mentioned). 4.9 FD for your tranny is a GREAT idea for the torque-less wonder...it'll make it feel much much quicker. Do a clutch/flywheel while you're in there
