anyone know how to make a valve cover breather??

i need to know how far i tap the valve cover, do i go all the way or just thru the first portion?

just the first portion... this will let the motor vent, but not cause a huge passage way for oil

i was told by a shop i needed to do this to my setup cause i have ls vtec turbo and on the back of the block there is no breather so they said i need some kind of breather too let out pressure or somthing is this true?
