Default Additional valve cover vents - How to?

After very useful thread over here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935 I'm going to change my breather/catch can setup a bit. I already have stock valve cover vent running open. So I'm thinking of adding few more. Here's what i don't know:

1. Location. Does it matter where I place it? I though of 2 ways, factory is on the back-rear left of valve cover, so would add 1 more rear-center and another rear-right or add 3 more so theres one on every corner of valve cover

2. Would having too many ports be a problem at some point, such as having too many breathers?

3. What size and type of fitting to use. Does it have to be welded? If not, what do i use to ensure that it sealed?

4. Will there be a need to use catch can? I'm using catch can for pcv valve, and factory valve cover breather just stays open. Would additional ports work same way and not spitting out oil?

FWIW the valvecover breather and block breather connect to the same airspace. That said, I think you should read up on PCV/catchcan systems.

1) No
2) No, but why do you want more ports?
3) The nicer ones I have seen use -AN fittings welded to the valvecover. Drilling and
tapping is also an option if you don't want to weld. Either way requires removal of the valvecover.
4) Yes unless you want oil vapors floating all over your engine bay making it un-bling

thanks for reply.. i figured they share same airspace.. my engine bay isn't as dirty due to 1 valve cover vent, although thats about all i have that is open. i'm making more than factory hp, so i'm thinking by adding couple more ports i can allow for more breathing, if its not a bad thing, i don't mind to give it a shot.

so this covers most of questions other than #3.. as for what type of fitting to use and size. does it have to be a valve or just plain open port?

You can't leave it open, it will drip oil. I tried filters on my valvecover breathers and they got soggy pretty quickly. I'm now using some 1/2" ID coolant hose and running that to a can

My original setup was to drill and tap the valvecover with 1/2" to 3/8 adapter-to-hose fitting thingie. It would've worked perfectly except I overtightened the leftmost one and stripped the thread on the valvecover. At that point I took it to my friend that has a TIG and got him to weld on a couple of 1/2" aluminum nipples, made from a tube of 1/2" aluminum bar drilled down the center. It works great this way, glad I got it welded

I took pics of the drilling + tapping but unfortunately they're not on this computer

Location does matter... on the OEM valvecover, you will notice that there is a baffle at the front of the valvecover (where most people place the fittings just above the exhaust manifold). Without the baffle, oil will be splashed around and it will pour oil out of there.

i see, my original plan was to add 2 more ports in the back near IM. one is already stock on the left, another would be in the middle, and 3rd would be on the right. i don't have too much of a mess from factory valve being open. with my pcv being blocked durning boost, this is the only vent i have, during vacuum, my setup is pretty much stock except valve cover vent is still open.
