Default s100 chips reusable?

So im picking up a s100 chip that has a baseman on it already and ordering a prechipped phearble ecu and was wondering if the s100 chip is retunable or if they are a one time use. I know s100 cars can be re tuned just don't know if they use new chips or reuse the old ones.

All of the chips that are provided by hondata for s100 systems are usually atmel or sst chips which can be re-programmed.

So I could just get the pre chipped ecu from phearable put the s100 chip or even a blank sst chip from phearable and get it tuned as s100

No, you need the s100 device, not just the s100 chip. It won't run with the chip alone.

Reason I say that is because there was a kid here that I sold my old gsr too cuz he blew up his boosted ls and instead of removing the s100 from is ls ecu he ordered a obd1 vtec chipped ecu from phearble and put his s100 chip in it and got retuned. Least from what im told. I know nothing bout tuning and how it all works.

Let me explain how the s100 system works:
The s100 system works with a standard chipped obd1 ecu that has a 4 pin header installed in cn2 which all of our phearable ecus come with standard. You must run the s100 module in the 4 pin header when you are running a hondata s100 eprom chip in the ecu.

So what you would like to know is. If you take the Hondata chip, aka SST or atmel 28 pin EPROM chip, from the Hondata S100 chipped ECU and put a new tune on it (re-tune) would it work in a non Hondata chipped ECU? As long as the re-tune is using software other than Hondata such as eCtune, Nepture or Crome. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!
