Icon2 ebay clutch's.(f1,xtd,xtr) any good?

alright so im doing just a simple d16z6 vtec and now my clutch is slipping so i was looking into the ones on ebay? question is are they any good or just junk? ive seen mixed reviews but i want the input of someone who might of actually used one.
also this car is my daily driver, which i drive on the freeway quite often and it can get quite trafficy, sooo is it worth going stage 2

i think all, xtr, xtd, f1 racing, all are the same. For daily use you can get a Exedy OEM for the same price.

Stage 3 XTD clutch kit/flywheel in my Gsr with ITR internals. Clutch took a dump after 3 months.

Exedy OEM replacement is better for dd use.

I'm using a f1 stage 3 in my ls integra. It's been in there for a year with no problems. I have probably about 10,000 miles on it. 300hp 256tq.

i had a stage 3 excedy carbon kevlar kit with the 7.5 pound flywheel. it would slip at higher RPM when it was cold but after it warmed up and broke in few months later i could take it up to the 9 grand rev limiter and didnt have any slipping.

I been using F1 stage 2 clutch for about a year now on my stock 95 civic d16z6 and put approx 10 to 12k on it. It has a nice clamp sorce than stock for sure kinda jerky and not as comfortable "expected for aftermarket"

Now here's the thing are you boosted or N/a?
If you're just pushing 160 - 170hp it will hold up, but more than that the thing will slip like a ****. I just found that out today after pushing 14psi on my z6, although it was holding up upto 12psi with my tiny mazdaspeed turbo i just havent dyno it yet. It hit 13.8 @102 on 14" steelies 1/4 mile so im guessing 190 - 170 to the wheels?

Personally I will consider getting F1 clutch again you cant beat the price, but i will get 6 puck next at the least for my set-up.

It will work no doubt just get 6 puck is my opinion.

Goodluck!

I also bought a Stage 2 Exedy Clutch on ebay and had no problems six months later. You pay for what you get so make sure the seller is reliable with good reviews. Hope this helps.

I like a fool ordered an XTD clutch off eBay! Lasted 8 months. I pulled transmission again and put in an EXEDY OEM replacement clutch. 2 years later clutch still works great! Basically you get what you pay for. Always have flywheel resurfaced. While your in there it's a good idea to go ahead and replace your rear main seal.

My Action Clutch 1MD (6-puck unsprung, HD pressure plate) lasted 185,000 miles. Daily, thousands of HPDE miles, drag, multiple seasons of autocross. I'd like to see a eBay clutch do that.

Well I bought a fidanza flywheel with the exedy clucth kit pro, have to say that i loved it, after 3 years, it started to make noises, so i went on ebay for a new clutch, well dont have much money so i decided to buy a mitsuko kit stage 1, first impression, nice color, release bearing made in plastic?... anyway i stripped the civic, btw a dx 99 hatch, put a d15b with 30000km that i had it stored for 9 years because it smoked, well made headgasket, stem seals, every other gasket, actualy the clutch exedy was still good, it was the input shaft bearing, so ive replaced all bearings, dam i have to open it 3 times, first time it didnt wanna shift, second time put the washers in the wrong way, third time for nothing, just suspicious lol, anyway my first job on transmission, so i put that mitsuko clutch, and after all was done, started it, a weird noise again, pressed the clutch and it stopped, were so dissapointed, were looking for another transmission, so i started to removed the trans again, after i spinned the shaft, works flawlessly, i was like dam im i no good?... whats wrong! so i noticed that the bolt in the trans casing that holds the gears... well the 3 pins on the pusher plate were bashing the head of that bolt, what are those 3 pins are for??? im about to grind them, or put the exedy back, still looking good for a 3 year clutch

Don't grind those unless you want a complete failure. Replace it with a proper fitting clutch.
