Default Skunk2 tuner stage3 or Jun 3 on my build?

11.5 compression cp pistons
84.5mm b20 with a gsr head. Block and head have been decked a total of .02XX
its a ported gsr head
Either gonna be running a king modded performer x or my un modded victor x manifold. would port matching the victor x to head be recommended or would too much velocity be lost from the runner being larger at head port than it is at the plenum?

Why would you go with neither.... pro series cam or a custom grind would be better.

how much power u trying to make?

I run a b20v with stock rods, and just rs machine cast pistons, with a done up gsr head, skunk2 stage 2's and I make 243 on pump gas. 91 all day

I wouldnt recommend the jun cams.

I run an unported victor x. I just match ported the tb to 70mm. I didnt match it to the head...

I run a DNR performance full race package on my head.
Just my 2 cents

Either of those cams should work well on your build but like others have said, pro series cams would give you more overall power. After all the testing that has been done on this board lately, I would think you would be looking at a CNC type R style manifold rather than the other two you listed for your build.

I love this question.

"Well, I'd like to make 220 but not a HAIR over it."

And why wouldn't you rec. Jun cams?? The Jun3 is the most consistent/copied/and common profile out there.

well the reason i dont wanna run the pro series cams is cause the primary lobes are big causing un wanted valvetrain wear. I believe the b20 with anymore bottom end torque will produce too much wheelspin which will have negative effects at the scca events i attend. Which consists of lowspeed tight turns rarely reach over 40mph in 2nd.
I do mostly drag racing anyway. the victor x seems to produce the widest and most consisten power band while the type r outperforms the victor x for a 1k rpm window. 7-8500rpm. The victor x will make very little less in that rpm window and produce 10-15 more from 8500-9500. Thats why all the questions regaurding the victor x manifold. am i seeing this wrong?

I am very open minded and open to suggestions. Thanks for your time everyone.

Jun 3's if he had more comp and stroke....11.5:1 with stock crank, i still think skunk2 stage 2 cams are the best for this setup. Just my opinion.

As for intake manifold, my experience points me to victor X....with a ITR manifold I lost power top end...when I swapped to the unported victor x, I make power well past 9500 rpms now. I just matched the TB, and left everything else stock.

Hope this info helps.

I love my JunIIIs. I made 240/165 last year on pump gas. They are great cams...hence why they were copied by everyone. Even Skunk. My compression is in the mid 12s.

....dude...unless you have valid proof of valvetrain wear, professional and documented proof....stop saying what you hear, thats so damn annoying. pro series cams dont cause excessive wear if people show they have wear its either

oil starvation
cam caps torqued too much
valvelash set wrong or retainer height is too high.

the pro cams are some of the best honda cams on the market next to custom grinds... get your facts staright.

tuner3s have stock primaries.. but when vtec kicks in you think a 50+ whp increase is easy on your rocker arms??? or valvetrain, ya vtec cracks so hard it breaks ur next but its not healthy..

a performerX manifold will better suit ur setup, period

Well said. Performance parts are made to gain HP, that always compromises reliability.

so the tuner 3's would run stock below vtec? I always thought they were different. Someone told me that the stock ECU will run tuner 3's on the normal lobe?

All the tuner series primary cam lobes are very close to stock which is why they are so easy to tune.

I've been seeing prices of 500 for each cam(in or ex) lol. So you're saying 550 directly from jun? Nice!

S2S2, Blox B, Wicked stage 2, Blue Print stage 2 all have the same vtec lobe as Jun 3...along with others.

The valvetrain wear is mostly caused from not running oil with enough zinc content in it, improper valve adjustment but also from installing different cams on rocker arms that are already worn. People install the new cams and don't always use proper lube and then beat on the car as soon as they put it back together. The cams need a brief period of time to get used to the rocker arms before they get pushed hard. Not using good oil just enhances the problem.

Check out this test again regarding the Victor x https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/profunction-presents-bseries-intake-manifold-tests-version-2-0-l-endyn-edelbrock-itr-2836657/

I honesly have never seen a good graph from anyhting the victor gets compared to unless it's on a boosted application.

im am talking about valvespring wear more than rocker arms wearing.

Hmm idk. It seems i have a few dyno charts that show the victor x outperforming a Aebs and type r manifold with tuner camshafts. Search user name Chameleon. I am pretty sure there would be a different outcome using small primary lobe camshafts.

I thought blox C = Jun 3, not Blox B.

very untrue tried to purchase a spark plug cover from them. It was priced at 450 because it requires a bank transfer fee along with other fees on top of the price of the cover. I paid 1200 for my jun 4 years ago.
