Default No spark at all?

Stock d15 motor. When I turn the ignition on and put a test light on all the connections and contacts inside the distributor, the light lights up. So the whole thing is getting power. But no spark at all. I had an extra ECU and extra distributor and cap so I tried swapping those. Same thing, gets power but no spark when I crank it.

Now I don't know the condition of the extra distributor so it might be bad too. All the fuses are good. Is there any way to check if it's the distributor or not? I think it is because I don't see what else would cause that problem.

The car had a blow motor when I got it so I don't know if it worked before or not...

Ive been buying distributors in bulk for stock... I just run them up to my local AutoZone and they check them right there for free...

So the car was running but now isnt getting any spark is it turning over as well? Make sure the starting point of the rotor is turned at 1 because theyre funny this happened to me and a buddy on his si, except they gave us 3 bad dizzy's and the 4 one worked, but when we installed it I wasnt paying attention and just jammed the rotor on and slapped it up. if this is your problem pull the dizzy off and spin the back part until the electrode is pointed towards the 1 firing position.

Ensure that you get fuel too. If you do get fuel, check the ignition coil.

I called mine and they said there's no way to test them. I'll try a few other ones..

Well hell...ok then.. check everything in the distributor separately.. also this far out there but is your timing belt broke??? this happens more than you think and people dont notice it...

Nope its not the timing belt I just put the motor together and it is new. Anyways I think I know my problem. I checked for a spark from the coil with the cap off and cranked the engine a lot like that to test spark directly from the coil. And I just read that cranking the engine a lot without the cap can ruin these coils so I'm guessing that was my problem..
