Default 11" Prelude Front Brakes on EG?

By hanging onto incredible amounts of car-part junk..... I've accumulated 95 Prelude VTEC calipers and 11" rotors redrilled for 4x100. I thought this would fit my 95 Civic EX Coupe, but the ears on the knuckles are too short to attach the caliper bracket over the rotor.

I haven't been able to find any info on this, but what can I do to make this setup work? Can I swap 96+ knuckles? Different calipers or brackets?

keep the 92-95 civic EX front knuckles

your 95 prelude VTEC front calipers should be stamped: 1 7 C L 1 5 V N (identical to ITR calipers)

the ITR caliper is stamped 17CL15VN

the 17CL15VN is one of the biggest single piston calipers honda produces.

you can easily identify this caliper from the stamp.

this caliper can also be found on:
97-01 ITR,
97-99 CL V6,
91-95 legend,
96-98 rl,
95-98 tl,
92-94 vigor,
95-02 accord v6,
91-97 accord wagon,
97-01 crv,
95-01 odyssey,
92-96 prelude vtec
& 97-01 prelude

your problem is offset, if you've already tried to "test-fit" you'll find that you're going to have trouble clearing

you can solve this by:
a. using shims
b. machining the brackets for clearance

* i prefer the machined method *

the bracket is stamped either 23T, 25T or 28T.

the bracket will need to be milled 2-3mm (or 1/8").
* (the machined brackets will also accept NSX & 94-95 legend 2-pot front calipers)

once the machine work is complete, everything should be a bolt-on process

* no upgrade to your 95 civic EX's master cylinder necessary *

after caliper installation:

Thanks for all the info! I checked and I do indeed have the 17CL15VN calipers.

92-95 civic EX and 94-01 integra (non-ITR) share the same brake upgrades,

yes, that thread applies to your application

you'll need to seperate the caliper & the bracket

the bracket needs to be sent out to a machine shop & will need to get milled
