CKP Trick not meant for OBD2a JDM D15b?
I have a jdm D15b w/vtec its obd2a with a p2j003 ecu and i was wondering if the ckp trick isnt meant for my ecu because the person who wired my engine did it and i think thats whats making me throw the CKP sensor cel code (cel 4)
You're thinking CKF trick. The P2J doesn't look for a CKF sensor in the first place. It does look for a CKP sensor though, which your engine does have. Undo what your buddy did and you should be ok.
I have an obd2b JDM d15b dual vtec.It has a Crank Fluctuation Sensor..Weird right ? My jdm 2000 gsr doesn't have one.I think dual stage d15b's have it.At least the Obd2b automatic ones.
I dont believe any JDM engines have them including the d15b. But you can look by the crank and see if there is a two wire connector down there.
Thats what I thought also. Some of the jdm d15B 3 stage motors have a ckf sensor and pinouts for it found online in a Russian manual for this motor. You gotta trust me I can post pics also and my block is marked D15b.Also I found a few other posts were others confirm this. One guy has the ek ferio car in Singapore. He said his has the ckf stock.

Here it is !!! On my JDM D15b 3 stage with obd2b wiring.I also thought that as well.I also though JDM didn't do OBD2b ecu's and wiring plugs.I have heard of at least three other people backing this up on a d15b 3 stage.Maybe Honda did it for the ones they sent to Singapore.Or on the Obd2b ones.

Can you not just swap over the oil pump from a USDM car and not have to worry about performing this bypass trick? I'm not swap expert but that's what I've always understood. Maybe that's what you have there.
You sure can. The problem is when doing a swap such as D-series to a B-series you need to buy the oil pump, CKF sensor, lower timing gear, and lower timing cover, which ends up being a good $300
OK I called Tiger Japanese and My importer here in Dallas.
Here's the facts !!!!!!
Some 96-2000 Jdm Small motors have a USDM style set up !!!
Tiger Japanese said only on 96- 2000 D15 and smaller motors have them.
So no D16 or any B Series.
Also I have the HONDA service Manual for the D15Z7 3 stage D15b in polish language that I downloaded last night.
It clearly shows a Crank sensor on the oil pump on a D15z7 with instructions how to remove it.
My D15b 3 stage came with a complete auto Obd2b wiring harness.Only the tranny plugs are cut.
Clearly it's stock were the CKF sensor wires are.Un Modified for shore.
I don't know yet if the PTJ obd2a manual ecu looks for it that I have.I don't have an EK car yet for my swap.I do see pinouts for it in the service manual and trouble codes just like a USDM ecu.
I'm gonna hook up the sensor on my swap. It's there for a reason !!
I also have the USDM B series parts if someone wants to buy them for $200.Sensor,pump,gear everything you need besides the lower cover.I did a JDM B20 swap in my CRV last year.I did the bypass wiring so I don't need the extra parts if someone is interested.

Need help! I have a 97 acura cl with 2.2 honda engine f22b1 vtec stick shift. I purchased another engine from a japanese imports with no crankshaft sensor n needed to replace oil pump and all dat good stuff but ran out of money, N i read that you can by pass it using the splice method c1 and c4 and c11 with c14 but the problem is that my ecu adapter doesn't have a wire on c1 or c11 . I believe its n obd2a model. Is it still possible? how?
