Overflow coolant missing
specs : 93 civic cx
obd2 b18c1
Noticing over the past couple weeks my coolant in my overflow has been going missing, and me having to fill it at least once a week.
- Plugs are clean
- oil is clean
- No noticeable white smoke coming out of exhaust * only on cold days *
- No puddles under car
- Changed rad cap, Overflow bottle, Overflow hose.
- Nothing under passenger carpet (heatercore)
- and can't smell anything from the inside of my car.
Noticed today that my Top hose on my rad is warm, Bottom is cold.
Possibly thinking my rad and fan are toast.
---doing a leakdown test within the next week---
Any Info that i can check would be great.

Check around the foam at the top of the rad tank head (where aluminum rad and plastic tank meet) - usually the plastic tank will leak into the foam and disperse while driving...

Re: Overflow coolant missing
-I'll check the top of the plastic in a bit when i go back outside.
-My temp gauge is always the same, always at half... hasn't changed since i installed the motor
- Could it be a leaky oilpump?

Re: Overflow coolant missing
leaky water pump would do it. but i dont see how a oil pump would cause coolant to leak unless there was coolant in the oil and thats not good

Pick up a few bottles of the dye you put in the coolant at Autozone along with the glasses and light. Run for a few days and then look under the hood at night with special light and glasses...
