My last Civic, the one without RPM gauge got stolen about 2 months ago, so I just bought another one, but I don't know if this has V-tech.

Where do I find the D16y8 stamp.? Does anyone have a picture of where it would be.?

I'm positive it doesn't have v-tech. But it's possible that it has vtec lol what do you plan on doing to it?

 

Ex models come with vtec from the factory, if he doesnt then someone swapped it out with a non vtec

lol...just look for the Vtec solenoid. i had a d16z6 in my si hatch and my buddy had the same car but he thought he wasnt running vtec since he valvecover didnt say...lmao...but yea just check for the solenoid

Nope. And the HX has VTEC-E which is more for economy than performance.

 

Lx is a Dx with power windows+locks.

I had a kid in a parking lot ask me if I had vtec because he thought he heard it...car was idling... :/

 

i would have been like hellz yeah, doing 5k rpm's right about now and the oil is manufactured with vtec enabling molucules that way its more noticable
