Is it possible to replace my 99-00 engine harness and ecu, with a 96-98 Engine harness and ECU.

I'm not doing a motor swap. I just want to replace my hacked up engine harness. I cant find a 99-00 DX 5spd Harness. All I can find is a 96-98 DX 5spd Harness. I know that the Pins and the Connectors are different at the ECU from obd2-a to obd2-b. That is why I'm replacing the ECU as well. Just Wanted to know if it was possible.

Nope. Its probably possible to do but you would have to chop up a conversion harness to do it and the plug setup from OBD2A and OBD2B are different enough that it would be a complete nightmare.

 

oh ok. so I should just stick with the same year? to make it easier on myself and not cause more problems.

 

Correct, you can go with different trims of that year like an EX or SI.

I will probably try to stick with DX cuz I dont want to wire up the IAC.
