I have a 1993 honda civic cx w/ a jdm gsr obd1, running on it's p72. It's got like 150 miles since i put it in.

Feels and sounds like i hit vtec... But then my fuel cut at 6500...

i thought it was my tachometer from ebay, so i uninstalled it.

Then my buddy let me buy afc neo.
installed an AFC Neo, stricktly for checking my rpms( monitor mode) too see if they were wrong and sure enough they are not.

6600 or so this time till fuel cut.

Oil is a little below the full mark.( it is on break in oil castrol 10w-30)

Its damn neer freezing around where i live, and i have a mitsimoto rad, fan switch and fan/shroud.

But even coming back from my 60 mile trip i decided to try it again, 6500 RPMs, then fuel cut.

PS: is it normal to run a code 22? ( vtec preasure sensor), since the afc, requires you to wire the VTM from the ECU to the AFC and leave the Pressure switch disconnected? i kinda liked not having a check engine light.

was it cold when you tried doing that???
because that happens to mine too when i run cold, but mine cuts out at 7k.
that's when i set my launch control so i can play around in the lower rpms.
check your temp. when doing that to see if its still cold while your driving around...?

 

Did you have this problem before you wired up the AFC? yeah I always wait untill its at full op temp before I hammer on it.

 

could be ecu or possibly dizzy breaking up
