Another P0301 issue, PLEASE HELP!!
Hey guys, my 2000 accord 2.3 vtec has about 225k on it. No timing belt issues, no fuel pump issues, new cat, new plugs (ngk), wires, cap & rotor.
I have noticed here lately that my car sounds like it is running on 3 of 4 cylinders. Previously, it would sound that way, but only for a little while, and when cold, it sounded fine. Now, and recently I noticed that the issues has become worse; the car sounds like I have a bad plug, wire, or injector... but don't (i hope). I have swapped plugs to see if the DTC reads any different (P0301,2,3,4) if I had a bad plug; the old wires did the same as the new (may have replaced needlessly).... Okay, I need to get to the point because I feel like I am rambling.
My question is: are there any components (crank/cam position, Coil Feed, Ignitor unit... etc) that may affect a misfire? I wonder and feel like the issue may be electronic (or a possible failure of an electronic component). I ask simply because I have (while the engine is running) pulled the #1 plug wire, and injector plug (not at the same time) and neither seem to affect the idle of the engine; however, when I do the same to the other cylinders, the engine just about wants to die. That is the reason for my suspicion. Any ideas?
Thank you, in advance!
Clem
