Default 99 civic ex (OBD2b)/swapped 96 y7 (OBD2a) - fuel pump wont prime

99 civic ex with a swapped y7 from a 96, I used the 96 engine harness and ecu and it all plugged in fine so I figured it was compatable, fuel pump won't prime, and check engine bulb won't come on, I checked fuses, any help?

check fuses, try a friends main fuel relay(sits under dash)

check the wires running to the fuel pump (for cut/rewired wires)

and lastly, check/replace the fuel pump

you can try tapping or slapping around the main fuel relay while its plugged in to see if the fuel pump starts to kick on,

another thing (but unlikely) is it could be the ecu

for the ecu test, grab any ecu thats obd2-b for a sohc motor and hook it up to see if anything changes. it doesnt matter if the ecu is vtec or not. its just for testing and turning on the car. NOT for driving on. unless its a ecu made for your motor

Did you check hood fuse 44 and dash fuse 13?

Does anything electrical work? Does the starter crank the engine? In ON(II), do the other dash warning lights turn on? Is there spark at the plugs?

Starter cranks, other dash lights work, but not check engine light? I checked bulb as well. All other electrical works I'm just wondering since the wiring and ecu are obd2a and the car is obd2b will I need to rewire anything. And the car ran good when it had the previous engine in it a obd2b b20vtec but I used the obd2a wiring and ecu because the old harness was hacked and I didn't have a 2b ecu

yes i double checked all grounds, do you know if the plug that goes from the chasis to engine harness near the ecu and the one in the engine bay are the same or do i need to rewire? i know that 99-00 reads rpms from the ecu instead of the dizzy idk if the wiring harness is different too, im going to go compare them today i cant find a diagram online for the life of me, just an engine harness pinout would b fine
