Today on my way to work my car shut off on it's own. I pulled off to the side pulled out my spark plugs and saw the one of the spark plugs melted and from the top I think I see the pistons in pieces. What can cause that to happen? Btw it's a b16a2

 

What would make you decide to pull the plugs? previous problems???

if its melted then you aren't running the right temperature plugs.

 

What do you mean you saw the piston in pieces? as in it shattered?

 

it'd make noise and probably smoke and stuff if you actually blew the piston.

 

Over advanced timing, or incorrect plug heat range, or lean AF mixture would be the most probable causes of melted plug electodes. However there could be many other causes.

 

Damn idk the car has always ran the same

Yeah it looks like it's shattered from the top. I'm going to take the head off tomorrow and see.

It did smoke when it happened

Damn for that to happen now I havent touched anything.

 

you might have spun a bearing, or check your timing belt to see if it broke.
