2002 ep3 with k20a2 SWAP - SHIFTER CABLES?
i have a 2002 civic si ep3 HATCH with the k20a2 swap in it...
After taking apart my dash (radio, shifterboot and ****, and the center console)...
well i see nothing that is broken after taking off the console and the radio and taking all that out. the shifter and shifterconsole is still in there...which is attached to the cables.
the left cable seems to be FLOATING FEELY and the right one has tension.
its weird cause i got it into gear and now it wont come out....i dont know what to do now but after taking off and putting on that plastic piece with the snap pins on...i got it into gear BUT DOESNT WNT TO COME OUT OF GEAR!
SLAVE CYLINDER?
SHIFT CABLES?
GREASING MAYBE ON WHERE THAT BALL IS ON BOTTOM OF SHIFTER?
i know one of you guys said i may be under the hood...why would that be?
i see the cable go from the floor under neath the car to the trans....will i have to drop trans and motor to get the cables off (on the other end of the cables that is)?
i got pics just dont know how to post attachments since we cant.

ok. so I DID get the car up and running. come to find out the other end of the shift cables was not connected(somehow the cotter pin backed itself out and wasnt connected,hence the free floating feeling in shifter.
but now, back to my original problem i was having,
its not shifting into 1st or 2nd . its not even letting me go to the left to shift into 1st or 2nd.
can anyone help out with input? thanks again

I'm assuming you didn't do the swap yourself. The cables shouldn't have had to be messed with on the interior during the swap (unless the installer had to cut the shifter for 6th). Stock ep3 shift cables are used for the a2 so I'd have to assume the problem is somewhere with their attachment to the transmission.
