Default Skunk2 Cam ID (lobe size)

I am running into some problems. my buddy has a set of cams that we are trying to figure out what they are. The cams are true skunk2 cams but what series they are. There is a engraving on the ends that says "S1" but according to Sk2 that the S1 is only k series cams. These are b series cams.

****UPDATE**** 12-7-10

Spoke to Joe at skunk2 nice guy and very helpful he took time to measure the cams they had out off the shelve compared to the measurements. Infact these are tuner 1 cams that were mis marked with the K sries markings or someone makred them s1 for stage 1's either way. Good customer service on Skunk2's end and and answered all questions i had. Thank Joe you were helpful!

Here are my measurements. Measurements were taken from bottom of the lobe to tip of the lobe on each.

Exhaust cam :

Primary lobe : 34.40mm
secondary : 33.00mm
Vtec lobe : 36.40 mm

Intake cam :

Primary lobe : 34.88mm
Secondary :33.11mm
Vtec : 36.90mm

can you give us a picture of the full cam not just part of it....."There is a engraving on the ends that says "S1" but according to Sk2 that the S1 is only k series cams"

info from skunk
B-Series Stage 1: H01 on intake and exhaust cam

B-Series Stage 2: H08IN on intake and H08EX on exhaust

B-Series Stage 3: S08IN on intake and S10EX on exhaust

B-Series Pro-Series: will have P1+, P2+ or P3+ denoting stages

??? there not skunk2? but the markings cast in to the cam saying "s2" with no hole in the cam for alignment. there solid cams.. just the marking on the end of the cam says s1 and they are not k series cams. the marling was etched in the cam before the coating was applied like there normal procedure .. miss marked maybe?

the cores usually have M on one cam and 2 on the other where yours shows S2....im guessing they are knock off and or clone cams. if i had to make another guess they are clones of skunk2 stage1 cams.

Alll current Skunk2 cams have the s2 stamped in cam between the lobs on the core. its cast IN not out.. The M and the 2 are on other aftermarket cams and Oem cams... you commented in the thread not to long ago about another person on here with a unknown cam.. even in the video skunk2 says that them selves. these are skunk 2's which ones are the mystery. even the pics show that.

good to know...ive been told so many different things over the years....i know even my skunk2 cams do not have S2 stamped into the core....but they do have H08 etched into them and there were dropped shipped from skunk2 in new sealed boxes.

of course just because they have S2 stamped into them means nothing....i have a stamp kit and it wouldnt take more then 30 seconds to stamp S2 into the cams...since the op's cams have S1 etched into the ends it leads me to believe someone screwed up on trying to pass off clones or fakes.

the other thing i noticed about the op's cams
they are shiny just like a steel cam and last time i checked skunk doesnt do steel cams

skunk cam on left steel cam on right

The OP's camshafts are authentic. We inspected many pictures in detail. The S2 between the lobes are not stamped, but are cast down into the core. This is something that is not readily faked. There is a big difference between stampings and castings. Furthermore only camshafts manufactured in the last year or so will have this S2 casting. Older versions will not have them. This was done to make it more difficult for people to try to pass of other camshafts as ours. Authentic Skunk2 camshafts will have neither an M nor a 2 in them.

We appreciate everyone in this thread that has offered useful info in helping the OP try to determine the authenticity of his camshafts. After much review we have all agreed that these ARE authentic and were etched with K series stage 1 etchings by mistake.
