cams??

Re: cams??
If you're looking for a high performance cam that is ideal for boost, you should look into Skunk2's Pro 1 series cam. Skunk2 Pro cams tend to give better numbers than any other cam designed for Hondas. At least this is true for the H series. You should call Skunk2 and request to speak to Brian. He's the brainiac when it comes to performance cams.

Re: cams??
I am currently rebuilding this engine and i have the S2 T1 cams already.. I planned on getting the pro 1s in the future.
A friend is trying to get me to run a set of gsr cams instead.

Re: cams??
I wouldn't put stock cams back in unless money is an issue. People have made nice power out of stock cams, but those numbers only get better with a performance cam. Have you Ported and Polished the head?

1. To identify what valve train you have, and what camshafts will be compatible.
2. To absorb some valuable knowledge about valve train and cams from camshaft professionals.
I highly recommend that you have the head ported and polished. Endyn, (Energy Dynamics) is the company that built my H22 head. They show average gains of 40-45 whp gains on their Full Race Ported and Polished heads. I'm not saying that Endyn is your only answer, because they are kinda pricey. But this is just to show that there is a lot of power to be unleashed when your head can breathe more freely. This will also help you to get more out of any camshaft you use.

Re: cams??
The thing about those cams is they are an older series Skunk2 cam. They were a slight upgrade to OEM cams. The Turbo series stage 1-3 camshafts were the predecessor to the Skunk2 Tuner 1-3 series cams. The way that Brian at Skunk2 explained it was that in the order of least to best performance, the b-series cams are like below...
OEM B18 cams, Type R cams, Tuner series, Pro Series.
You may have already known this but I thought it might help. I bet it's a real pain to find any authentic dyno graphs with Skunk2 Turbo cams these days.

Re: cams??
What is ur power goal?
Is it driving on the street a lot or just track or both?
For a street car I would stick with the tuner1s with the tuner1 springs they will make plenty of power and won't cause excessive valve train and rocker arm wear like the pro1s and springs. For track car pro1s for sure.

Re: cams??
I agree with using the pro 1s but that's in the future..
I am needing help choosing which cam to run now.
GSR cam or S2T1? (I already have both sets of cams)
I have listed the specs in post #13

Re: cams??
No power goal for now just good street manners and strong throughout the powerband.
With the S2T1 it previously made 332whp 242wtq on 7lbs with a masterpower .50 trim. If I knew the GSR cams would be better for now I'd use them instead.
Then engine is currently being rebuilt due to a spun rod bearing.

INT 10.6mm 230*
EXH 9.4mm 227*
Skunk2 Turbo1
INT 10.38mm 223*
EXH 10.0mm 227*
If you compare the stats above with the the only thing different between the S2T1's and the GSR cams is lift increase on the exhaust side, and a decrease on the intake side... I made almost exactly the same #'s as you with GSR cams at 10psi...
So I would personally just put the GSR's in the engine and sell the S2T1's and put the money towards something else... Maybe the new S2 turner cam or a decent port job...
