Default 3/8" vs 1/2" turbo flange

Hey guys I searched but found answers that contradicted each other. Will I be okay if I use 3/8" flanges for my T3 turbo manifold, 4 bolt dp and wastegate? Found some people saying that 3/8 should be fine and others saying 1/2, so I wanted to get more opinions.

Thanks

3/8" is fine. 1/2" warps slightly if not bolted down to anything so there really is not too much of a benefit to me personally. If you do not have any extra flanges/drilled out thick aluminum, then just bolt the flange down to your exhaust housing while welding and there will be no warpage.

I used 3/8" flanges from weirtech to build my manifold, and they have held up just fine. I did end up having to get the faces machined flat after I welded it up, which was my own error, not the flange thickness.
