still no heat any ideas?
ok we put it back together but it still doesnt blow hot air just cool air.
we flushed the radiator. made sure the switches opened and closed the pump.
noticed though that the output pipe was not getting hot it was somewhat warm but was ok to grab and hold for long periods of time. even after idling the engine for about 20 minutes.
the heater core was flushed so nothing in it and also but new hoses onto it.
one thing we are not sure about are the blower doors if they are opening correcltly we are going to check those out tomorrow when its light out.
any other ideas?

well the cables are all attached and look fine. going to double check and manually try and open the heater valve tomorrow.
the 2 electronic control units that open and close them might be bad.
if they are not connected do the gears allow you to manually rotate them? or does the engine only rotate them with current?
any other ideas?

Sounds like the cables that open and close the blend door and/or the inlet valve is missing or not connected.
There will be a valve on the inlet hose that you can open and shut. You can manually open and shut it by unhinging the cable and opening and closing that valve.
Also, you have to open/close the blend door. That's inside the car, under the glove box, near the center console (pretty close to where your left foot would be in the passenger side). It'll look similar to that valve, there will be a cable attached to it (or supposed to anyway), just unhinge that cable if its stuck and open/close the door manually.
The electronic control unit is an actuator that opens all the other vents (defrost, feet, front). But it does not control the blend door. even if the actuator wasn't working, you would still get hot air from the defroster. The blend door is controlled by the sliding temperature switch in your climate control, via those cables.
