Paint for calipers/valve cover?
I have to rebuild my calipers in the next few days and figured it might be a good time to paint them and maybe the valve cover if I can find the time and its not to expensive.
What are my options if I want to paint them to match the car color (milano red)?
Can I use regular automotive paint if I use a high temp primer?

I actually did a test spot on my engine block right behind the exhaust header with some PPG OMNI single stage, and after a year nothing has happened to it. No discoloring, no peeling, no nothing. Valve cover and calipers should be just fine as long as the prep is done correctly.
I've also used POR-15 on brake calipers and it was fine as well.
id just use a heat resistant clear over it they have some they sell thats made for high heat like headers and stovetops even thats clear. just google heat resistant auto paint, i forgot the exact site

it will all work fine, i just went into autozone and picked up some heat resistant spray cans
for my truck calipers and they have lasted forever still on there and the paints been there for about 3 years now. even when brake dust etc gets on them i just spray them down.

I can answer that for you for sure; regular automotive paint will be fine

I painted my valve cover and calipers with regular car paint(base coat/clear coat) simply cause I have a lot of paint I need to get rid of and everything has been working perfectly fine. No chipping or discoloring happening at all

^^^ yes it will be fine. It's been done 1000X but why when you can just paint them and have the same outcome for cheaper.
I used VHT hi -Temp Wrinkle paint on my valve cover. It takes a long time to cure, but looks absolutely great.
