Default LS chip questions

I was wondering if chipping an LS will do anything at all. I really have no idea about chipping it or what you can accomplish. what will it cost? is it hard to install? is it even worth it. thanks guys

You can have your Redline/shiftpoint/fuel cutoff RPMz tailored

not sure how benificial the changing of the fuel maps? ect help ... but i really wouldnt worry about it unless you got upgraded camz and still people on here warned me the B18B isnt all that safe rev'n up to 8k ... because of them not having the oil squirters like the B18C design ?? something like that

I'd recommend an S-AFC over a chip. Keep your stock redline, your bottom end can't take higher revs.

Ive heard ls rods are stronger than gsr's. I wouldn't mess with the chip. I would go with a safc also.

i bought a chipped ecu from pyr racing, and it made a hell of alot of difference in my rs teg, no rev limit, better fuel curve and timing adjustment, and i can rev my ls to ~7600 rpms no prob, but any more and the valves start to float, haha, but i have all new valve train sitting here in my living room waiting to be installed, then ill be safe reving to 8 at the most!!! what is the stock ls rev limiter?? 7000?
and what is a gsr???

a gsr's is at 8100rpm. if i chip my GSR, how high can i rev before my valves **** up??

i wonder if anybody has ever tested this before.. chip their car to like 11000RPM.. and slowly rev up there to see how high they can go before boom.

well, i saw a kid in a 93-94 civic at the track, he had his car pinned, bouncing off the rev limiter, and then shot his 100 shot nitrous and kept the pedal to the floor, ive never heard a rev limiter go that fast, this was as his car was on the trailer, i guess he had a new motor for it or sumpin, but that one blew a lot of smoke
