so i took the head off my b18. and i felt lines on the side of cylinder 1 and 4. is it still safe to put in the head? the sides are not cracked yet but you can feel lines on it.

 

Yea, small scratches and marks from daily use. Depending on your mileage, every car will get them eventually. Its all part of the wear and tear process, so maybe a rebuild is in your near future.

I would take the opportunity to freshen up the block and head. At least do a little hone and cleaning, new pistons, seals, etc before you put it all back on.

 

thanks..but is it still safe to use the block? i dont want to waste time to put the head back on and something goes wrong
