do it yourself if thats all your going to have done.. pull the crank send to a machine shop to have it checked. buy bearing and rings some one around your area wouldn't charge u that much..

As long as your using stock bore size pistons you should be good. Probably wouldn't hurt to have your head checked at a machine shop for warpage and if so have it decked while its off now so you can get a good seal with the new head gasket, instead of a month down the road having to tear the head off again cause of a leaking HG. Napa and places like that will check your head and deck them if need be for fairly cheap

deck the block and head, hone the cylinders, check the head for valve leakage, and vat both head and block for a pretty motor

Probably talking about getting the head checked for any warpage for a proper head gasket seal. And refering to getting the crank shaft getting balanced

ya get it weighted and balanced.The machine shop I brought my engine to charged me $150 for weighting and balancing the whole bottom end. Had it balanced to 10k.
