...so you can take them off and not drop the steering column. or do you still drop the steering column?

yeah you have to take it off to be able to pull the dash away from it. once you have it ready to come off that is. its just a couple of screws and plugs

EDIT..

you don't have to drop the steering column. i never did, because the real thing thats in the way is the wiper/turn signal switches

get on the floor on your back and look up.

there are 2 bolts and 2 nuts on long studs that hold the steering column up. they are attached to plates that are welded to the steering column. get out a flash light. as soon as you see it, you'll kick yourself for how obvious it is

you dont have to take off your steering wheel to take your dash out. Just lower your steering column and just wiggle the dash out, I think your making it more difficult than it should be.

Taking out the dash is one of the simplest things to do, just use common sense and I'm sure someone has already covered on how to take out the dash. Google is your friend, I just type Honda Tech and what I'm looking for.

my main relay works because i had problems with it before and spent 300 bucks trying to find out what my problem was. i know the main relay is good because when you turn your key the relay will hummmmmmmmmm and it does that. there is a good engine diagnoses i was looking at and it has some good info.
