HELP: heater isnt working
car 1997 honda crv... engine gets up to temp (reads half on gauge)
well winter is HERE (DAMMIT!!!!!!!!) and its SUPER cold... my damn heater isnt working... i flushed the coolant and still doesnt work... i even shoved the garden hose into the coolant lines (line that goes to the heater core box, two lines on the firewall) and it returned fine so i dont think its clogged... it does turn on but blows nothing but COLD AIR!!!! what can it be? i need heat in the crv because the odyssey isnt cutting it in the snow
tho it does have heat
also the coolant line from the head to the switch (piece that lets the coolant pass thru) gets hot but from the switch back the coolant line is cold and also the return line... could it be its not circulating..

Check the water valve, #1... http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...y5=WATER+VALVE make sure it opens and closes when you move the temp. control, it may be a broken or disconnected cable or the valve itself is bad. 94
well when drained the coolant i checked the valve and open/closed fine...
hot and cold switches fine... **** moves freely and it kicks when u switch it... im thinking its either that valve and its my coolant system

You said, "also the coolant line from the head to the switch (piece that lets the coolant pass thru) gets hot but from the switch back the coolant line is cold and also the return line... could it be its not circulating" that would indicate the valve is not working or there is air in the system, "air-lock".
When you move the temp. control does the valve arm move? 94

If your heater is not working. Then your heater core went out. Never mind checking your coolent and other stuff. Your heater core is out. Mine is super cold in my 99 civic lx. To replace it you have to pull out some of the dash. Its right behind it.
No bs theres 2 tracks that run under your dash that slide one was off on mine and caused this problem i did everything from new thermostat to flush the system and heater core.you can see the tracks from the passenger side i mean its worth a shot to look at it.
