Yay Changed the Timing Belt on my CRX
just wanted to say thanks to everyone who answers questions here
and makes this a place we can find help
I know without this form and a few YouTube videos
it would have been much more difficult and I probably would have done some things I shouldn't have.
I am not going to go through everything that happened
but the crank bolt was on insanely tight.
I broke and bent a cheap half inch breaker bar on it and used a 1/2 impact wrench on it and it would not come off...
Also i snapped the head off my craftsman socket wrench trying to get the 19mm motor mount bolt off... sears gave me one not as nice which bummed me out but its better then buying one.
So I paid $49 took it to the dealer because i figured if the bolt snapped off inside the crank or if it got stripped beyond a wrench being able to get a grip on it the dealer would be the best place.
It was either that or the $50 tool I will use once.... I was pretty paranoid it was going to snap off in the crank heh..
They took it off for me this past saturday and by sunday afternoon i had it all done.
did the water pump, valve cover gasket, timing belt and alternator belt.
I bought a new air conditioning belt but it seems too long I dont think if i maxed out the adjustment it would fit.
Also i painted everything and anti seize on every bolt after wire brushing them... waiting for paint to dry took a while heh
Anyway now i have some new tools i got at Harbor Freight they had a nice 14 piece set of impact sockets for $14 on clearance and got a large breaker bar and extensions...
anyway here is a picture of my nice new self adjuster

thanks again everyone
oh yea this thing needs a lot of work so expect more questions
