Default Brake Upgrade for GS-R?

The braking in the GS-R is decent. However, are their a set a of discs/brakes etc to get above average performance?

I'm still using stock calipers... but when my rotors warped and my pads needed to be changed... I replaced the rotor and pads w/ Brembo OE Blanks and Hawk HPs pads.. I'm happy w/ how it performs...

got it from http://www.collettimotorsports.com (click on specials).. it was $28/rotor + $10/rotor ship and like $70 sum for the pads (I forget exactly)..

since i only have bolt-ons, i'm using brembo OE cross drilled and slotted rotors with Axxis metal master brake pads. stopping was definitely better than original..

when my pads wear out.. I might try Axxis Ultimates.. if not then another set of Hawks... I'm happy w/ the Brembo OE Blanks

I replaced my pads no more then 2 months ago went with hawks (not +) and they definatly help slow me down, and I can also torque break higher when launching at the track cause the breaks will hold it. Only thing I don't like is that they create ALOT OF BREAK DUST, my white rims are absolutly filthy in less then a weeks time....

I usually wash my car weekly.. and wax it bi weekly or at least monthly.. but I've been busy lately and haven't washed my car in about 2 weeks.... its true the Hawks do dust a lot..but they bite really well too so its worth it IMO.. I just gotta wash my car more hehe..

I think FAstbrackes.com might offer some things... or if you got money, you can try Endless.. they do offer a caliper kit for the front of out cars...GS-R.. same are their Type-R upgrade
pretty cool but I think their site is down right now

Im going to try the fastbrakes kit, or maybe willwood... do those fit behind 15's? I have Baer (which came with the car) and 17" wheels... The rotors are warped so the car shakes real bad when i stop above 60mph. I think the fastbrakes rotors w/accord calipers will work real nice with some 15" rotas.

I JUST put on a set of Brembo blanks and Axxis Ultimates and so far I'm quite impressed. As long as they don't dust a lot like the Hawk HP+'s on my RX-7 do I'll be VERY happy with them.

I would recommend to try new performance street pads before spending the money for a rotor/caliper upgrade. I upgraded to Axxis Ultimates from cobaltfriction.com and Im very happy with them. That was such a significant improvement.
