Default Limp shifer stick:)

Was driving and shifting, went to shift from second to third, and stick went limp and will not engauge any gear. Car currenty stuck in fourth gear. I have been told that it is the shifter fork? Can anyone help me out? 89 civic SI

i bet your one of your linkage bars got disconnected from the shifter or the tranny.....jack up the car or look under it and see if the linkage is hanging down! it happened to me....the shift linkage pin fell out once and one time the bolt came out of the side of my tranny that held the stabilizer bar on and the linkage fell!!! stuck in second gear sucked!

everytime that happens to me its the cable that needs to be adjusted. righty tighty so the clutch would fully disengauge. hth

I looked none of the linkage is hanging, everything looks ok from the outside. Yeah try driving in a city in fourth, stop lights are not fun.

wow. i know that the little piece that is broken in the tranny is supposed to be like $11 at honda, that little shifter fork part. i would hate to be your clutch right now. 4th gear starts...OUCH. hope you get the flywheel resurfaced, that clutch is going to fry... good luck man.

EDIT: the shifter fork part is in the trans, it helps the synchro forks select gears--your tranny has be completely torn down.
