my gsr tranny is apart at the moment and im inspecting it to see how the parts move around trying to figure out if i can add a neutral safety switch to the tranny itsself.
and make it similar to back up switch. maybe modify the lever to include the neutral position and reverse.
or modify the switch or use another one to make it multi position instead of just one.
anyone attempted it yet or any thoughts?
i do have the machine guy that can help me make the necessary modifications.
pictures or diagrams would be helpfull or any suggestions.

i have a compustar and it does work fine. except the times you have to get something from the car and start the sequence again. or you forget and the next morning the car is frozen cold and cant remote start
i had that for last 3 years and im tired of that ****.
i want a full functioning RS without the sequence and with the neutral safety switch so it doesnt start in gear.

does anyone have a diagram of the tranny? to see how the forks move around?
mine is completely apart and i havet got a chance to do anything in last few days cuz of snow.
anyone familiar with subaru nss? is the switch multiposition or just single like honda?
i know subies have the switch since 93 in all manual trannys because of turbo timer.
but unfortunately theres no turbo b series on the market.

You'd need at least 2 switches, sensing when the shifter shaft was moved in or out. Side to side won't matter, no gears engauge ONLY by moving sideways.
There's a better method, and it doesn't involve messing with your tranny - however it's technically for a TURBO TIMER. The mods in the security section dont believe in posting good info to help the determined individuals, they simply delete topics regarding remote start bypasses that aren't module-based.
I have a magnetic reed switch just behind my shift lever, and a 1/8" square neodymium magnet that pulls it closed. The magnet is on a bracket, bolted to my shift lever. It is connected in series with the e-brake wire (neutral switch), so if the e-brake is off OR the shifter is moved, the engine dies. I even have the radar proximity sensor hooked to a relay, which opens the e-brake wire when it alarms. The ecu's clutch wire gets tapped into by the remote start's "status output" wire on cars with a clutch switch.
I've tested it countless times, and I can't even get it to touch a gear at high idle (~1500 rpm) and slam it forward or backward. This is with a stock flywheel and a skunk2 short throw. With the alarm on, I can't reach through to the shifter before it dies. I also had it on my EF this way. 2 years with the EF, and almost 2 years with the EG. No problems yet.
BTW this does make my alarm's turbo timer safer. With a generic turbo timer, someone could reach through the window and shift it into gear...

i have done that but its flimsy, i tried many different combinations of it in last few years.
the shifter side is not very precise and needs adjustments over time
i am trying to make one that will be easy to install for everyone and it will last long.
you only need one switch, one position of the lever, when the shifter is in the center,
i already figured it out just need to find the correct parts that will last long, OEM quality more or less.
btw what is the tpe of switch that is used for backup lights? single pole pin switch or something like that? water proof or sealed?
