Hey guys, just bought a '93 teg with a b20b in it and I plan on going turbo. I'll be aiming for around 300whp. I've done alot of searching and there is alot of debate about the reliability due to the thinner cylinder walls, but there are also a number of good running b20 turbos as well. My question is this...how much does it really matter if the cylinder walls are thinner as long as you're not detonating..?

 

If the compression is good on the motor then go for it. Just don't be surprised when it fails after a while even with a good tune. If the tune isn't spot on then you are on borrowed time.

Ok so basically as long as you run a good and/or conservative tune (shouldn't be detonating) the cylinder walls shouldn't (theoretically) be an issue? Do you guys think it's worth it to go B20/vtec then turbo, or just straight B20 turbo?

-straight b20 is hard to make power unless u add cams
