Default Problem with rear disc brakes...

You know the part where the ebrake cables attach to the part with the spring, and there is a sort of bolt with cotter pin holding it in. Well that bolt has made it self at home and nothing I can do is getting it out. I plan on getting all new calipers so I don't know what parts come with the new ones. But any ideas how I can press this out?

Ok well then you know the spring and the large bolt inside that, I took off that bolt and tryed to pull it out and I saw what I guess was a bearing and then it wouldn't pull out anymore. Any trick to that?

dont play with that spring,
i never did and wouldnt like playing with it to get it back in..

but lube it up with oil and wd40 and if worse comes to worse
just unbolt the L bracket and just rebolt your old piece on the new caliper

So on that little L-bracket where it has the clip like brake lines do, if I pull that clip out the brake cable will come in 2 pieces? That is the only way I can understand not having to take out all that other stuff...

the cable passes through that L bracket and clips into that little spring
bracket via that little pin and that cotter pin..

NOW if youre having problems getting that little pin out..take out the cotter
lube it up and smack it out...

IF youre having problems taking out the cable from that L bracket just dont bother
and remove the L bracket and bolt it up to the new caliper.

See the Bolt and Cotter Pin is where it is really supposed to disconnect at but it's basically froze. I see the L-Bracket but even if I take that off it will still be connected at the bolt/pin and all of that stuff. I don't know how taking off just the bracket would do anything.

Yeah but there is like a 1/4'' space between the caliper and that bolt. How can I bang it out. Is there any sort of special tool I could use?

use a punch, then punch on the side of the bolt to loosen the ridge, then use a U tipe pry bar and yank it out !!

I can't punch it because the only way it can come out is towards me and I would have to punch it the opposite direction so it wouldn't do anything. I think I'm just going to finish drilling it out.
