Distributor Rotor screw Question
Hello my friends from H-T. Ok so here's the deal My car wasn't running and i just figured out why last night. I opened the Distributor up and I see that the rotor is missing the setscrew. I had been trying to crank the car for weeks with no luck. Anyways i got the screw back on it and i place it on the car last night and it turned over really well.
I was flipping other threads about a missing set screw and was told that one i do put a new another screw in it i need to hand crank the motor, assuming to TDC.
Is there any validity on what I read about hand cranking it?
If so what would be the reason for this if the distributor fit in fine and did turn over?
Thanks alot, i'm awaiting an answer.

There is no need to set the engine to TDC1 to install the distributor or rotor. You may, however, need to flick the ignition switch to ON(III) to position the rotor screw for access to remove or install. Be sure to remove the hood ECU fuse prior to flicking the ignition switch with the distributor cap off so that you don't blow the coil.
