question about distributor rotor install.
It comes off after you remove the rotor. Rotate the rotor until you can see the screw head in the access valley towards the back of the distributor.

just came back, without the battery terminal connected can i manually turn the rotor? i don't think i can.

Gotta either remove the distributor or turn the engine by the crank pulley bolt.
I usually opt for remove the distributor b/c sometimes I need to use an impact driver to break the rotor screw loose otherwise I risk stripping the head.
Just make sure you note the distributor key/keyway orientation when you remove the distributor if the key/keyway aren't symmetrical. If you get confused, set the cams to TDC #1 and align the distributor to fire at the #1 cap position. That'll ensure that you don't mess up the cam angle sensor phasing.

connect the battery back. with the cap off just crank the motor a lil bit wit the key from inside the car so the screw is facing up
