Default amp to dvc

i have a powerbank 1000.2 amp bridged that is powering 2 10" apline type e's. well i guess a terminal broke on one sub and a voice coil is bad on the other. i want to upgrade and i was looking at the type s. alpine type s has dual voice coil overs rated at either 2 ohms or 4 ohms. i cant find a damn manual for my amp and im not sure how to wire those or if i even can. so which ohm load should i buy 2 or 4 and how would i wire those to my particular amp?

I would get the dual 2ohm, wire the subs in series, then bridge at the amp, that would give you a 2 ohm load, but then again, I don't know if that amp is stable at 2 ohms bridged. You need to find that out. If it isn't, then I'd get the dual 4 ohm coils, wire them in series, then bridge at the amp, that way you get a 4 ohm load. Most 2 channel amps are stable with a 4 ohm load while bridged...

More than likely the amp will do it's bridged power @ 4 ohms

looks like the alpine type E subs are single 4 ohm, so you are either running your amp at 2 ohms or 8 ohms, i would think it's 2 ohm. so buy dual 2 ohm if you are running 2 subs
and this link will show you everything you need.

Or, he could be running each off a single channel...

if you get the dual 4ohm you can get a 4 ohm final load for the amp bridged. with the dual 4ohm you can also do a 1ohm final load on the amp bridged if its 1ohm stable. the dual 2ohm subs i find arent as versatile unless your doing 3 subs or more.

2 subs not sure if the amp is stable to 2 definitely not stable at 1 ohm. right now they are bridged and im pushing 2 type e's. planning on 2 type s's. i had them installed by someone so im not sure what the load is now. im still new to the lingo. trying to get a grasp. but its forf sure doable right? im just worried id have to replace my whole set up

after looking at this link its clear how to wire them but whats the difference in ohm impedance? should i aim for lower or higher here? also should i keep the amp bridged?

the amp is bridged?? if it is now, then you can get the dual 2ohm subs, series the voice coil, that nets you 4 on each sub, then run them the same way you are with your type e's

Why not just get 2 single 4's? make it easier to wire up.

please never do this, a lot of music will be from the left or right( when the song sounds like it's going back and forth) and when subs are hooked up to a left or right channel, they will fight each other, it's best to have them hooked up in a mono way so they work as one sub.

the only way to make both scenerios work is if the source has a mono output. then the amp sees mono sub and not stereo.
