91 realtime auto wagovan shift position switch issues?
I'm having an issue with the shift position switch in my 91 wagovan. When I turn the car off and put it in park the "P" light in the cluster doesn't always light up. While this happens I can't get the key out of the ignition.
Well, I checked Majestic and it doesn't look like the switch is still available new. I'll call my local dealer tomorrow. For now, I'm wondering if I can just mount a spring loaded rocker switch in the console n tap the green/white wire n run it to ground? Has anyone here had to do this before?

I'm having the same problem with my mom's Del Sol. The key is always getting stuck in the ignition.
I can get it out though, if I disconnect the battery. I'll have to give that switch adjustment a try.

if any of these posts reads anything other than 0 ohms the switch is toast, or can't be adjusted to read 0 , is this correct?

If you look at the pics above posted by RonJ@HT the console switch is the problem.
Heres what i did to fix the switch on my mothers integra.
Removed the switch, removed all plastic covers ( be careful there is a tiny pin ball thats inside) to reveal the contact points for when the switch goes to P, R , N , D , ETC . I noticed that the contact points were dry and did not really make good contact.
I cleaned it up really good. once i did that, i added solder to each contact point to kinda bring it up, or level it up, so that the switch will actually make contact with it. Once finished with that, i lubed it up with electric grease. Put it all back together and haven't had the problem come back. (its been a year).
Sorry i don't have any pics. I spent 5 minutes trying to look for that switch online but i cant find any and I am too tired to keep looking.
