I need a JDM hood lock repaired. Can people recommend a reliable shop that does nice work in the SF Bay Area (as close to the Peninsula as possible)?

No need to repair. Just buy one from a 90-93 usdm acura integra, its the same thing. I'm using it on my car for over 3 years and running now.

I think there's only like 3-4 bolts plus the cable. How good are you with tools?

 

I might be able to get a hold of some tools, but I'd need to ask around. Going to pickup the hood lock from the dealership soon - $50. =(

 

$50? Jesus. Alright, you're doing this all wrong.

1. Spend the $50 on a basic set of tools (socket set, open-end wrenches, screwdrivers).
2. Go to junkyard, use tools, learn how the thing is held in there, and buy hood lock for $5.
3. Profit with newfound knowledge and ability.
