Default guyz I really need ur help RSX 02 check engine light

so here is the deal..
last night i was driving my 02 rsx -s and the heat shield of the catalytic converter fell off but because of the O2 sensor it didnt' completely fall off as it was hanging by the wire. Anyway today I cut the shield off and now the check engine light is on. Not only that but my spedometer is not working at all (RPM is working ) and Im getting a crank shaft sensor code and 02 sensor code aswell.. also my v-tech is not working and I can't switch to 5th gear.. Please can someone tell me what should i do? could it be the sensor wiring that messed everything up?

thanks for any help on this matter.

I really don't wanna take it to the delearship

did the wiring melt anywhere, or is there any cuts in the wiring? A heat shield by itsself cant cause all those issues. Check your o2 from one end to the other for any problems.

don't think the wiring melt, but it could be cut as the heat shield was hanging by the o2 sensor wire. but it shouldn't still effect the speedometer or any other sensors i think

No it shouldn't affect the speedo or anything like that, but its funny that that also has to happen at the same time.

yes it can effect the speedo. check all those wires, one is def showing. i'm not sure which one, but when it grounds, it will blow the eld fuse (electronic load detector). check that fuse, i bet it's blown. under dash fusebox, I believe its a 15A. find the open wire and tape it up should be good to go.

So you're saying a bad wire off the O2 can affect an isolated function on the speedo? So the tach is off a separate circuit?

is it true that the ELD fuse is built in in the 02 rsx type s? would I need to get the whole fuse box?
I found this one club rsx forums...

can anyone confirm that

ehh idk anything about that.. but i do know that the speedo sensor is on the back side of the trans and could have been hit or messed with when the heat shield took a tunble.. or crank code idk about..

Just got my car back from the delearship. apparently the o2 sensor messed up all those other sensors by shorting out a fuse. been a rough day as my batteries died on the way to the delearship and i had to get the car towed.

My car iz working fine now except for the 02 sensor which iz disconnected and giving me a check engine light. they charged me 150 for the service, which im guessing is only one fuse that needed to b changed.

anyway everything works on my car but my V-tech is not still not engaging. I didn't know 02 sensor would cause that issue still.

BTW.. thanks for all the help guys

vtec... not v-tech your car does not have a cordless phone under the hood. yes not having a vital piece of equipment on your car will make your car not work correctly.
