What?

Are you attempting to put an ATTS transmission into a base model, then remove the ATTS and add LSD? If so, that's stupid.

If something else, your question isn't clear. Try again.

I have a hard time thinking that a transmission with an ATTS unit can also have an LSD. I don't own an SH and don't really know sh*t about the variables ATTS uses. I have to imagine both wheel speed & load are major factors in how ATTS applies itself but I would think a variable such as a mechanical LSD would do nothing but cause trouble.

^ You're right. You can't have ATTS + LSD.

Cardude, do some research. Figure out what you actually have. Then, come back and post a coherent question.

And ATTS most definitely isn't useless. Maybe if you drive like it's a Civic Wagon or something. Wait, no, that would make the driver useless.

ok let me do some research ok did it when you type in the vin number it comes up as a 98 sh 5spd....you look at the diff you can see straight through now you tell me if thats a lsd? i have always been tought that if you can see through its lsd if it has a bar its non lsd...i dont have a sh myself i have a base model but bought a motor and trans for 200...i know for a fact its a sh....and you can correct me if im wrong but....w/o bar=lsd w bar=no lsd...i know it would make no sence at all. If im correct then could i use it with out the atts

I do understand the concept of the atts so thats where my problem is coming in to play

find the transmission's code. M2U4 = SH IIRC.
or better yet take a picture, if there's an adapter plate to eliminate the ATTS unit it might be the one in a million that makes little practical sense

My ATTS unit was jacking up, so I removed it. it was a pain, but i was able to make a 3/8" adaptor plate and used a base transmission that was built. i'm not sure if the half-shaft will fit in an SH tranny. i don't see why not, but i didn't try it.

Definitely post the tranny code. Dagle is right, M2U4 = Type-S/TypeSH trans with ATTS.

I've never heard of anyone removing ATTS from the M2U4 and adding LSD. I'm pretty sure it's not even possible for a legitimate price.

If you want LSD, go buy one and add it to your existing transmission. Or you could get an H22 trans that already has OEM LSD.

Ok, so you heard that Type Sh has an ATTS unit(its right) witch you think its LSD.No, Its not a LSD but its like an LSD, it only works when you corner with high speed, and what it does is it transfers the torque from each wheel depending on wheel the ECU sense is loosing grip. Transmission it self is not a LSD, it works with ATTS unit.

I think iam right but if not correct me :D
