Default Evo 3 16G turbo advice....

I've been searching online for a long time now trying to find some advice on the Evo 3 MHI 16g turbo, but I can't find enough about this turbo on a honda to make a final decision on it. I was wondering if it was going to hit my power goals. This is my setup:

B16 head:
-Supertech dual valve springs
-Supertech Ti retainers
-Ferrea race valves
-GSR cams

GSR Block:
-Eagle H beam rods
-Supertech 9.1:1 forged pistons
-ACL race bearings

Fuel:
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-750cc RC injectors
-Blox FPR
-AEM fuel rail

Pretty much a fully built poorman's type r. My goal is between 300-350 whp. I was wondering if the Evo 3 16g turbo will stand up to these numbers even at 8500 rpms or will it run out of breath? Thanks for any opinions.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on this turbo on a b-series engine?

16g will be good for 300-350 but you got pistons/rods, at least shoot for 400+ (bigger turbo).

I will eventually, but for now it's gonna be just a street car on street tires and my daily driver.

just wondering because you don't see too many b-series/16g manifolds.

Ya i bought an adapter plate to run this turbo. I want it to spool quick, which this turbo will do, but I just wanted to know if it would meet power goals ok.

that turbo will make good power especially for its price. What I do recommend is taking of the exh side and doing some porting on the exh housing as the biggest restrictor of flow is its housing. Housing are a dime a dozen for thsoe turbos so dont be scared to give it a good porting and smoothing.

Not sure if youre running an internal or external gate but if running internal you can channel a little more towards the internal gate to help boost control a bit better.

It will make 320+ i know of for sure and thats on a dsm motor, and im sure on a honda motor it will make a tad more.

I have a lot of experience with the EVO III 16g on my integra. The last setup was a stock GSR and it made 297whp and 258wtrq at 18psi on a Mustang dyno. The turbo still has plenty more in it as well. The turbo made peak power around 8K if I remember correctly.

Definitely weld the flapper shut and go external. When I had the EVO III 16g on my built LS motor boost creep was a pain in my a$$! Went with a Tial 38mm external off the manifold and solid boost ever since!
