Default Wheel chirping; boost spike?

My wastegate's spring is at 7 pounds and everytime I go from 1st to 2nd I get mad wheel chirp and was wondering if the wheel chirp could be a factor in my boost spike, my last run I spiked to around 10-11psi during upshift.

What manifold and wastegate are you running?

Yup, boost spike will create a sudden surge of torque... It will promote wheel spin if your traction limit has already been breached.

A boosted car is gonna spin from 1st to 2nd. Be lucky your only getting chirp lol. My car is on ice skates at the top of 2nd lol

jfoster-Running a blox log style with a 38mm tial

tony the tiger-Well I would call it more of a wheel spin rather than wheel chirp,

boostedeg-I'm on a fairly medium sized turbo and with low boost so I actually have constant traction with some summer tires 195s, now when I shift I lose traction and my wheel spins and give me slight torque steer when I gain traction.

195's? No wonder. Get some 205/50/15 Nitto Neogens, they are amazing street tires.

So the sudden loss of traction would not have to deal with any sort of boot spikes? I felt like since there was less load on the turbo it would spool faster and too fast for the WG to expel the gasses fast enough.

I have a blox with a 38mm tial as well, running on a 10psi spring. My car breaks loose shifting into 2nd too, but as far as I know it never boosts over 10psi. Are you running an elbow to the WG? Where is your vacuum line ran to?

No elbow straight from manifold and my wastegate line is from the compressor housing

i highly doubt he would notice much if any difference between a 195 and 205. If anything a better compound would be a good idea (dunlop star spec's or bridgestone re11). also the 195's should have a slightly taller sidewall that should help with straight line traction as well.

I figured it out, my wastegate's vacuum line had a leak and I over boosted roughly around 1.5 bar and my car dies and interior fades, thank god I was on my street coming from applebees and now I have lots of blowby and I started the procedure of pulling the motor out for a overhaul. I'm assuming I blew my rings or ringlands.

Ouch....no one put a boost limit in the ecu program? when i tune cars i typically set the boost cut to 2-3 psi over what i tuned it for and set the fuel columns above the tuned ones to run rich.

Yikes. Make sure you have good vacuum lines going to those areas. even a single tear could cause problems
