2002 Lancer Project
Picked this up about a month ago, popped head gasket / slapped head, Timing belt broke, sitting 3 years.
Interior was covered in mold, body just dirty, took it all apart, cleaned and re assembled and looks pretty good, haven't been able to get the mold off the steering wheel so might have to buy a new one.
Body is rough, dents everywhere but for the price I paid who cares, hit something in the front end so gotta buy a new bumper and line it all up.
Instead of trying to salvage the motor I just yanked it, It was a pretty easy process if you have ever pulled a motor before, real only difference is that the harness doesn't disconnect you have to unplug everything and just fold the harness over the fender.
then this runs McPherson suspension which I would consider better / easier to work on, but makes getting the axles out a pain.
I got pretty lucky and the only damage I caused was breaking a fitting (plastic) off the power steering reservoir so just gonna get a new one.
Local LKQ motor, new should be in tomorrow and hopefully up and running, still need to source a radiator, condenser, front bumper and some nic nac's, even tho there are alot of lancers out there not many people parting out and dipsh*ts ask top dollar good thing for parts channel and keystone accounts.
Its nothing special just a cheapo project, just thought someone might wanna see it sense I like checking out all the different build threads, and to face it all the lancer forums are pretty stupid all they talk about is trying to convert them into evo's way to much work / money.
Goals - Just make a nice driver until I sell it

I have a soft spot for these car's if it was a stick that would hav been cool. I think done right they can look like one mean *** car. With a nice drop and wheels and some body parts she would look cool!
What's funny is that if they had the money to do that they'd have an Evo. People used to "Evo out" OZ Rally's until the Evo came out. It halfway made sense then, since you couldn't get an Evo at first. By now, first sentence applies.
