Thinking of buying a RSX Type S, Have some questions
Was working on project DD car(95 eg) but crashed it.
Got the insurance money and using the money I had saved for my engine, to spend on a new car.
So I was looking at honda/acuras in my price range and came across a 02 RSX Type S with 72k on it and the owner wants $7,500
I have been reading a lot about transmission problem when it comes to the type s about 1st and 2nd grinding and 3rd popping out. Does changing the trans fluid really solve the issue?or is it just a temporary solution ?
What's a safe amount of boost for a 02 type s?
Also does that year and trim come with a sound package ? Owner has listed as "has every possible option" I need to know so I can decide to sell my own sound system from my eg. I don't need anything super loud like my current system, but a little bump in the trunk would be nice so I could sell my system for extra money and have a decent factory set up.

As far as the trans problems... I've been threw four transmission and never had that issue myself. I change my tranny fluid every other oil change though because I pretty much pound my car and use the horespower to its full extent.
If it is a Type-S indeed it will have the good sound system.
And as far as boost the K series are freaks. I have friends pushing 18psi daily pushing over 500whp and for the track boosting 23psi....... nuts I know.. The answer to that is always up to your driving and your tuner..

mine is for sale, check sig....no grinds in trans at all!! my tuner is running 16psi on his stock 02 k20a2 motor making 520hp/352tq...nice and reliable!!
Type-'S'paz-There pushing that on stock internals?
Clean DC5, but looking for something more stock, so I can make it my own when I start my build.

the trans problem is hit or miss.. typically changing the fluids can make the most of it, i build a kit that pushes 12 lbs on two mid sized options of turbos and creates between 400 and 500 whp daily on the k series.. i think youll be fine..
