Need help identify which bearing inside tranny going out
Tranny is 94 si. When the car stops I can hear the bearing inside the tranny making noise. If the clutch is engaged then the noise stops. I am going to pull it out and replace it, but I need to know which one first so I can order it and not have to deal so much with the down time.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Likely the ISB. Replace any others that are worn (along with anything else that is worn) while you're in there. Good time to replace the throw-out and pilot bearings as well.
from what i've gathered this is almost always ISB.
its a good idea to replace both bearings on the shaft if your changing one, trans bearings are (relatively) cheap anyways, if you plan on keeping the trans/car for a while i would replace a few of the bearings but it might be easier to just replace the whole trans with a mint unit.
