So admitedly I made a small mistake when ordering through summit and chose the 11.5 pound braille battery instead of the 14.5 pound battery.

However since I've installed it a week ago I've had no cold start issues and was able to run the trunk light the whole time I was doing the rear suspension install and it still fired right up.

On the plus side it drops almost 20 pounds from the front of the car and came with a free battery monitor

I also purchased the braille mount but it was useless so I stuck to the stock s2k holder with a piece of high temp foam under it and some 8inch j-hooks I picked up from autozone.

The brace itself was corroded so I stripped off the plastic coating and will be giving it a nice tool dip this weekend back to black.

Btw you should continue using butterfly bolts instead of nuts as it's too easy to tq down and dent the plastic top of the battery if your not carefull.

I've used 8 pound batteries in the past on b16 and b18 motors like the 60 dollar SLA batteries @ pepboys but with the supplied gold terminals and more powerfull CCA and life I would recommend spending extra

only takes around 60-80amps to start a 4 cylinder motor....that battery will dump out 4-5 times that for short cranking durations.
Nice little battery though...i use the kinetik HC800 in my honda's they are a little heavier at 26lbs but they will crank out over 800amps.

well.. that is a Japanese battery.

 

Braille batteries are not Jap made batteries they are made at Deka in PA. You can get then for like 30 bucks there. They just dont have the nice sticker on them.

 

He said they are jdm batteries that come with the jdm front clips he buys...He never said the braille batteries were jdm
