I searched but couldnt find the answer needed, so....
I have a 92 accord lx auto with 85k and need a rear engine mount, or the control valve soleniod controlling it. My local parts store only has the one without the solenoid. Can I use the rear mount without the solenoid and cap off/remove/disable the little electronic control unit??? Are there any ill effects? It seems to be a straightforward scenario if the mounts are the same dimensions and such. The control valve/unit has a signal connection and one vacuum line to the manifold, the other to the rear mount. Simply blocking the line at the manifold should suffice right??? Blocking that port with the car running currently seems to do nothing... And I wouldn't mind eliminating one of the many potential future vacuum leak sources, lord knows this car has plenty

 

yea just get rid of it. its no big deal. it was a feature that made the mount 'softer' when rpms were below 1200 or so, as to avoid vibration. totally retarded. you can get rid of it no problem, no cel. just make sure you plug the vac connection and you're good.

now you can take that road trip to the jersey shore like you've always wanted. yea bro

I ended up finding that mount with the solenoid and replaced it a couple weeks ago. That mount is the dumbest ish I have ever seen. It makes it a real pain to remove and I think the one I got was defective because I still have vibration at idle in gear sometimes. The solenoid was loose right out of the box and the metal rod/actuator that controls the lever on the mount was bent, and not connected properly. The old solenoid works so I threw that one on the new mount, which helped a bit, but something needs to be done. I might have to grab me one of the m/t mounts and bite the bullet...if so, next time I will defintely remove the solenoid from the mount before attempting to remove the mount.
